Veuve Clicquot – REBELS

For the 2018 instalment of Veuve Cliquot’s annual Widows event, London – an exhibition celebrating rule-breaking artistry – Du Preez & Thornton Jones tackled the thematic ‘radical moments in British culture’ with several artworks underlining their own maverick approach to the visual arts. Highlights included a filmic exploration of VR-enhanced gender fluidity and an animatronic head set to a James Lavelle-orchestrated soundscape.

The six-room event, which paid homage to nightclub culture in reference to their legacy as fertile incubators of cultural revolution, was steered by creative director Tom Hingston and also included set designer Anna Burns, photographer Nick Knight and sonic-light artist Chris Levine.
