In 2017, Du Preez & Thornton Jones directed the video for Utopia, the title track from the ninth studio album by Björk. Part music video, part performance art, it’s also CGI-enhanced storytelling at its best. Focused around a dreamlike, euphoria-inducing landscape of flautists, birds and pink viscera it’s a hyper-real fulcrum of live action film-making, computer-generated animations and high-production set design. Core collaborators included James Merry (silicone prosthetics and braid jewellery) and production designer Heimir Sverrisson.
